Olympus 1996 Ron Hendon and Daddy Flo

The first Mr. and Ms Olympus Leather was Ron Hendon and Daddy Flo. Three men and three woman competed in the first Mr. and Ms Olympus Leather Contest which was at the Radisson Hotel in New Orleans, LA.
International Ms Leather 1991 Kay Hallanger was back from 1993 and Don Thompson returned from 1995 as emcees for Pantheon of Leather Weekend. The judges were International Mr. Leather 1995 Larry Everett, International Mr. Leather den daddy Walter Klingler, Mr. Louisiana Leather 1996 Mitch Pierce, International Ms Leather 1995 Pat Baillie, American Leatherwoman 1994 Sarah Humble and Rubyfruit Jungle bar owner Penny Young. The tally master was Mr. Brother, Help Thyself 1995 Bruce Forcheimer and the judges' boy was American Leatherboy 1995 Kevin McGraw.
The Mr. and Ms Olympus Leather title is pansexual, open to all genders. Over the years, gays, lesbians, het men and women, FTMs and MTFs have won the national title.
The Olympus Leather title created the Fetish Image category where judges observe the demeanor of contestants from the meet and greet to the time they sit down at the judging table before the staged portion of the contest. How do the contestants interact with people off stage and outside an interview room? Much of the good and bad done by titleholders occurs off stage, yet that had never knowingly been officially taken into account in any Leather contest before.
While not a contestant, the superclean Frank Nowicki who emceed this portion of the show, was named International Mr. Saliva. Frank, in complete shock, tossed the sash and ran out of the room. The audience howled in laughter.
While small, it was clear that the Mr. and Ms Olympus Leather Contest had a place in the Leather title system.
