Mr & Ms Olympus 2006 Raven and Terrel Brown
|
|
Lady Raven from Steubenville, OH became Ms Olympus Leather
2006 and Terrell Brown from Oklahoma City, OK was chosen Mr. Olympus Leather
2006 in the theater above the Chicago Eagle on Sunday night, February
19. Lady Raven was sponsored by Tom Stice and Terrell Brown was sponsored
by NAL: Oklahoma City and Daddy Mikey. There was a basket auction during
the Awards Show on Saturday for their travel fund that netted over $3,400.
Entertainer Bobbie performed to the delight of the audience during the
Olympus Leather Contest and help raise $1,000 for the International Leather
Sir Katrina Relief Fund.
Jim Drew from Seattle was one of five contestants in the International Mr. Saliva Contest and had the misfortune of being named the winner, chosen by audience applause at Touche'. Frank Nowicki emceed this, just as he did the Awards Show only moments before. Drew, who won the Northwest Regional Award, then the Saliva title, made it a trifecta when he won the raffle of a Leather straight jacket donated by JT's Stockroom of Los Angeles. Tickets were sold on Saturday and Sunday and the drawing was held during the closing party at the Chicago Eagle. A meet and greet started the weekend off where the Cell Block Leatherman and Olympus Leather contestants and judges were introduced. The place was packed, and even though it was freezing outside it was obvious that events would be well-attended. The Mardi Gras set for the Olympus Leather Contest was fabulous. Paul Sullenger opened with a number that roused the crowd. Shortly after the contestants had their question/answer and fantasy categories interspersed with each other. Entertainment by Bobbie sizzled. This Bobbie is going to go places and the stage crew said that he was great to work with and had no attitude. And the shower scene was back, with two hunks this year. Another reason not to miss Pantheon next year. The judging panel included Avatar publicity chair George Wong who was the head judge, Ms Olympus Leather 2005 Caro, Mr. Olympus Leather 2005 Freddie Marshall, International Ms Leather 2005 Jessi Holman-Ahart and Bay Area Reporter columnist Marcus Hernandez, Leslie Anderson was the tally master and George Hester was the contestant coordinator. The contest show was produced by RJ Chaffin. When the fundraiser for New Orleans took place people gave liberally. Certificates of appreciation were handed out to each of Pantheon of Leather's corporate sponsors and the tally master began adding up scores. The step down speeches by Freddie Marshall and Caro were superb. Neither were long and both had a lot of love. As a step down fantasy each went out into the crowd presenting purple roses to the many who touched their lives during their title years. Once again the crowd was fahrklempt. Each of the Olympus Leather 2006 winners were named and it was down stairs to the Chicago Eagle for the weekend closing party. |
